The Tytherington Club in Cheshire has completed the second stage of an extensive programme of drainage works on the club’s 18-hole championship golf course.
The club has welcomed a significant investment in its golf course over the last two years aimed at improving the playing experience for members and guests. Following the first phase of works completed in August 2022, the recently completed Phase Two saw drainage installations on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 12th, 14th and 16th holes, completed in just five weeks.
This work will have a significant impact on the drainage capabilities of the course and improve its overall condition, particularly throughout wetter, winter months. As a result, members can expect to see fewer course closures, better protection during the spring and summer months and improved year-round quality.
In addition to the drainage work 370 linear meters of pathway have been upgraded, improving both the overall look of the course as well as the transition between different areas. The course is now ready to see in a busy season of competitions, with the annual Club Championships taking place mid-August.
With an impressive golf membership, a host of annual golf days and golf breaks as well as regular green fee visitors, The Tytherington Club’s golf course boasts over 100 bunkers and eight water features, with breath-taking views of the Peak District.
With the next phase of planned works scheduled for 2024, the club is committed to investing in its course and facilities over the long-term for the benefit of its golf community.
