The New Swimming Pool & Cover

The fabulous new 16m swimming pool at The Club at Cams Hall Estate, boasts an impressive super energy efficient Aquatop Covrex automatic cover. This stylish and innovative cover not only looks good, but it also provides enhanced insulation properties that are crucial for helping the club achieve its ESG goals. Investment in innovative products that promote a more responsible and sustainable future, demonstrates just how committed The Club Company is to reducing its carbon footprint.

Some of the key benefits of pool cover include:

  • Water conservation – less water evaporation from a covered pool, allows us to conserve this precious resource.

  • Energy savings – cover reduces heat loss, so smaller carbon footprint as less energy required to maintain water temperature.

  • Reduction in chemical usage – overnight pool is protected from debris, which means fewer chemical treatments are required.

  • From a social health and safety perspective, the cover provides a critical safety barrier.

The Warwickshire

Sustainable & Ethical Water Usage At The Club

The Warwickshire has been fully committed to using more sustainable outputs for its water management across all its 470 acres of land. All water needed for their courses is ethically sourced from the club’s lakes, minimising reliance on external sources.

In addition to this, a borehole is available to supplement their lake water if ever needed, ensuring a steady supply without tapping into the mains. This allows The Warwickshire to maintain its extensive grounds in an eco-friendly, sustainable way, all whilst respecting environmental conservation principles.

The Cara Gainer Women’s Invitational

We were delighted to host an exciting event designed exclusively for our female golf members at The Club Company.

The Cara Gainer Invitational took place on 25th June 2024 with the aim of championing women’s golf and growing its future.

Female golf members were joined by professional golfer Cara Gainer, alongside a host of elite players for the female-only golf experience to play and learn from those at the very top of the women’s game.

Greetham Valley

Energy Saving Case Study

Greetham Valley has solar panels installed on the driving range (30KW) and the roof of the Hotel (8KW), along with Biomass boilers for the heating and hot water to the Hotel.

The two Froling TX250 biomass boilers benefit from the government RHI scheme which, once the Capital installation was repaid (which took less than four years), they now benefit from the payments received covering the running costs of the boilers and the supply of the woodchip, effectively benefitting from the costs covered for heating and hot water. Greetham Valley have electric heaters in the hotel rooms aside from the supply provided by the biomass boilers.

In a calendar year the biomass heating using the woodchip generates approximately 925000 KWh with an estimated energy input from woodchip of 1088235 at a carbon factor of 0.011 kgCO2e/KWh. The carbon generated from this system equates to approximately 12.32 tonnes per year, which when compared to oil equivalent carbon generated would be 277.7 tonnes. On this one site, carbon mitigated from not using oil is 265 tonnes. The use of biomass boilers has also negated much of the risk from the volatile energy markets in recent years. The cost of woodchip is far more stable.

Greetham Valley has also been very proud of its ability to influence the carbon footprint through many of its green practices implemented over the years.

The reduction of fertiliser applications has resulted in better management of labour costs as well as less burning of fuel and reducing carbon footprint.

‘Out of play’ areas and walk-off areas from tee to greens have been maintained to enable cut and collect once a year, also driving carbon efficiencies by retaining many of these areas as wild, and have encouraged many wildlife habitats within this natural environment; with less applications of weedkiller many of the pollinating insects are also encouraged.

Fallen trees/tree management is re-cycled with an on-site woodchipper for use on chippings for other areas such as pathways. Leaves and some grass clippings are composted for use on gardens and grounds, 40m cubed of compost is developed each year.

All these areas have assisted with the reduction in Greetham Valley’s carbon footprint and the venue continues to promote new and ongoing efficiencies for this area.
