Nizels Golf and Country Club in Kent received a fantastic investment recently, which allowed the club to upgrade its gym with new equipment ahead of schedule. The club is also looking forward to completing Phase Two of its course drainage and bunkers works this summer, which follows on from Phase 1 works in 2019.

This project sees the club continue its work with international golf course architect Jonathan Gaunt to lay out plans for the significant drainage and bunker works, which includes the addition of substantial main drainage and extensive gravel banding.

The bunker work includes re-shaping and infilling existing bunkers as well as the construction of new bunkers which will improve the look and playability of the course. Nine holes were completed during Phase One in 2019, with the remaining nine holes taking place later this year.

Golf Operations Manager David Hobbs commented; “We have all seen the positive impacts that the works have had on the course, and are thrilled to announce that the follow up works will be starting in July 2023 to be completed by the end of September 2023.”

This programme will conclude a programme of club improvements designed to improve playing conditions and extend the use of the course, which overlooks the Kentish Weald countryside.
